Description
Summary: Heads the Companys field human resources function. Ensures that the field human capital component contributes to the success of the enterprise through promoting/ and integrating high business ethics and effective field HR roles. Provides clear direction and focus through planned integration of HR strategies that will optimize the attraction and retention of field people talent, while striving to be an Employer of Choice. Directs a field HR team ensuring that team performance is reviewed and appropriately measured for maximum contribution to overall field business strategies. Reports to HR VP. Directly supervises two Field HR Directors and indirectly supervises HR Managers (Stores and/or DC/Plant). Strategic Field HR Integration (Stores, DC, Plant) 1. Achieves assigned goals and objectives. Partners closely with the Companys head of stores and other functional business heads. 2. Acts as chief mentor, advisor and counselor on field HR issues and opportunities. Provides team building support through counseling and learning applications where appropriate. 3. Ensures the execution of succession planning and monitors processes to assure that business needs are met. Closely works with supervisor to achieve assigned goals and objectives. 4. Develops and recommends field HR philosophy and strategy and works closely with supervisor and field organization heads to implement. Stewards an environment that promotes fairness and equity in management decisions regarding people. Acts as the key executive steward on ethics in business across the field enterprise. 5. Ensures that the stores HR strategy for expansion and growth is implemented across the enterprise. 6. Provides HR solutions to business issues through careful planning and deployment of human capital assets. 7. Establishes measurable standards of performance with emphasis on store sales & warehouse teams, DC & Plant teams; leads the identification, development and implementation of broad human resources strategies associated with accomplishing field business objectives. Assists the field leadership teams in defining and transitioning the organizations culture towards improved business results, customer service, productivity and cost effectiveness.
Human Resources Management/Administration 1. Develops and interprets field HR policies and best practices. Recommends, implements and maintains Associate relations policies, procedures and programs. Ensures that such practices are fair and equitable and ensures that all federal, state and local laws and regulations are met. 2. Monitors the on-going progress of succession processes and development plans. 3. In partnership with Corporate Compensation/Benefits/HRIS, monitors pay and benefits practices to ensure cost effectiveness and fair and equitable field pay practices. Identifies inequities and works with field management and Corporate Compensation to find solutions. 4. Determines HR practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promotes a high level of employee morale and business ethics. Ensures that practices are consistent, fair and equitable across the enterprise; complies with all federal, state and local laws and regulations. 5. Directs, implements and/or partners in one or more of the following HR program development: talent acquisition and management strategies; organizational development; compensation/benefits administration; employment diversity; and Associate and Labor Relations. Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations governing these programs and practices. 6. In close coordination with supervisor, develops training/management development programs aimed at improving Associate and management performance and effectiveness. Assesses programs and modifies for improved effectiveness. 7. Prepares and maintains HR budget.
Education & Experience Required: B.S. Degree in Business, Human Resources, Labor Relations, MBA or equivalent experience. 7-10 years of HR experience at the Director level. Multi-site experience is required 5-7 years in two or more of the following key contributor HR roles: Associate Relations, Recruiting/staffing, Talent Management, OD, Training, Compensation and/or Benefits Administration.
